A warm glass of almond milk, with honey, cinnamon, and collagen: It's a treat. It's an excuse to get a little extra collagen in my diet. It's made of beauty staples I always stock. It puts me to sleep. Here's how I indulge as the night winds down:
In the Kitchen
A great source of antioxidant vitamin E and calcium, which helps to heal skin and body and produce melatonin. I often make it homemade with a hint of quality vanilla extract, but I also purchase unsweetened originals like Almond Breeze. I'll use coconut milk as a lower carb alternative, depending on my mood.
Raw honey with pollen can help counter allergies, heal the body, is full of antioxidants, releases melatonin in the brain, and tastes so damn good.
Anti-inflammatory, antioxidant rich, the health and flavor perks of cinnamon are endless.
Collagen is what makes babies' cheeks jiggly and pinchable. We sadly lose our pinachability for various reasons, and some believe that consuming collagen has a boatload of benefits, for skin, hair, joins, heart and organ health. Collagen contains glycine, an amino acid that fights inflammation and helps to stimulate neurotransmitters that help induce a deeper sleep. My favorites can be found below.
